Are You “All In” or Do You Take a “Step-by-Step” Approach?

Picture this: The pool is open for the first days of summer. You dip your toe in to test the water temperature, and yes, it’s cold.

Do you:

  • Just jump in with both feet, knowing your body will adjust within a few minutes OR
  • Step in slowly taking several minutes to let each body part adjust before moving on to the next body part?

Both approaches are completely fine; it’s just a personal preference.

When it comes to changing our eating habits, people often mirror one of these two approaches.

If you’ve been diagnosed with a disease, you may have been given the news that you must change your lifestyle, including your eating habits. The Auto-Immune Protocol (AIP) is often prescribed for people who have been diagnosed with autoimmune disease from Crohn’s to Rheumatoid Arthritis and every autoimmune disease in between. This approach is all about making sure the body gets the most nutritional resources required for immune regulation, gut health, tissue healing and hormone health while removing inflammatory inducing foods and lifestyle habits.

So, you got your diagnosis and then what happened? Did your doctor hand you copies of a textbook explaining what you need to do? Did he/she refer you to a nutritionist who gave you a list of Do’s and Don’ts? How’s that working for you? Are you feeling better yet??

Here is where I can help you.

If you are an “All In” person and want to jump in with both feet, I will go to your home (or help you via FaceTime or Skype) to clean out your pantry. I will take you to the grocery store to help you find the foods that fit into your eating plan. I will give you recipes that will incorporate your new eating style. We’ll strategize going out to dinner and parties.

If you are a “Step by Step” person, we will decide together what to eliminate first. I’ll help you find the alternatives to your favorite items. I’ll give you recipes and resources for this first step. We will slowly eliminate the items to get you to feeling better. We will clean out your pantry and hit the grocery store, as well.

This can be very overwhelming and you may need some help and support along the way. My goal is to help you with this process and let you know you are not alone.

Let me know how I can help you!

Be well,

-Miriam
